This edition of book was planned for those students whose major interest lies in applying statistical methods to problems in psychology and education. A new chapter has been added to provide proofs of several key formula’s which are illustrated in the text and several techniques have been outlined. The book has three parts, Part I deals with Descriptive Statistics covering frequency distribution, measures of central tendency, measures of variability, cumulative distributions, graphic methods and percentiles, normal distribution and linear correlation. Part II covers inference and prediction comprehensively. Part III explains special topics - correlation and test construction – dealing with mental tests and other psychological data, the reliability and validity of test scores, multiple correlation in test selection and derivation of key formulas and some additional techniques. The book has about 150 problems with their answers which would prove very useful to the students of psychology and education.
