Hans Raj Present volume is an attempt to discuss problems of population explosion, facing the world all over and straining national economic resources everywhere on the one hand and creating social and political problems both in the Eastern and Western societies, on the other. The impact of this explosion is obviously more on developing rather than developed societies of the world. In this volume some of the important population studies e.g. calculation of fertility, mortality, density of population and also several population theories have been particularly discussed. The volume is divided into three parts. Part I deals with theory and problems connected with population studies. Part II is concerned with population studies of some selected countries. Part III is exclusively devoted to India, which of course, needs special attention these days in the field of population studies.
