Falstaff is a celebrated name in the history of English drama. His comic genius is unsurpassed till our own times. The originality and fecundity of his wit are amazing. The scenes in which he appears in the play King Henry IV (Part I) are most delectable, indeed. Shakespeare’s creation of this character is his greatest triumph in the sphere of comedy.
