This Book Philosophy and Sociology of Education has been presented in three parts. Part ‘D’ deals with Sociology of Education with chapters on, education for religion and morality, education and culture, human education and values, the school and society, education as a social sub-system, the college in the social structure, socialization and family, peer group and education, role of the teacher, curriculum, social stratification and education in India, State and education, education in democracy, scientific tendency in education, secularism and education, education for socialistic pattern of society, the disturbed campus, concept of discipline, education for modernization, individual-group interaction, social change and education and social control and education, education for national integration. Drawing matter from authentic sources, analysing every subject under central headings, sub-headings and running headings, simple and lucid language and examples from every day Indian life; these features have been adopted to make this book an ideal text-books for the Indian students.
